Our Approach

Chronic Pain

A woman in a blue tank top and black pants undergoes an arm strength test by a healthcare worker inside a gym or wellness center, with a motivational quote on the wall that reads 'Healing you heals the world'.

People who've been in pain for months or years, seen multiple providers without lasting relief, and are ready to understand why their pain persists and finally do something about it.

    • Fibromyalgia

    • Persistent low back or neck pain

    • Widespread body pain

    • Pain that seems disproportionate to the injury

    • Pain that changes with stress or sleep

    • Chronic headaches

    • Lingering post-injury pain

  • We treat both the body and the nervous system, because chronic pain lives in both. Using Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE), manual therapy, graded exposure, sensory retraining, and strength training, we help your brain and body learn that movement is safe again.

We don't just manage your pain. We work with you to eliminate it.

  • Deep-dive evaluation into your pain history, beliefs, lifestyle, sleep, stress, and movement. Treatment is collaborative. You'll understand exactly what's happening and why, so you can take your healing into your own hands long-term.

Different kinds of treatments that include sensory re-learning such as two-point discrimination, regional localization, and right/left discrimination.

We have to treat the brain and the nervous system in order to make real change.“

How We Retrain The Nervous System

  • A person receiving a medical injection in their arm with a syringe, with a focus on the syringe and the patient's arm, and a blurred background of chairs and a window.

    Sensory Retraining

We use techniques like two-point discrimination to help the body relearn what movement feels like in affected areas — rebuilding the brain's accurate map of the body.

  • Close-up of a healthcare worker holding and examining a child's wrist.

    Pain Interpretation Training

We work with you to distinguish between sensations that signal genuine harm and those that reflect a sensitized nervous system. This shifts your relationship with pain from fear to understanding.

  • A young man with closed eyes, standing against a plain wall, wearing a white t-shirt.

    Visualization & Brain-Based Techniques

Methods like right-left discrimination use mental imagery to change the brain's processing of incoming sensory information — directly addressing the source of central sensitization.

  • Two men in a gym, one is lifting weights, the other is spotting him and touching his shoulder

    Graded Exposure Through Movement

We guide you back to the movements and activities you've been afraid to do — gradually and safely — retraining the brain to perceive them as non-threatening.

  • Pain Neuroscience Education

Understanding why your nervous system is responding the way it is is itself therapeutic. We help you make sense of your pain so it loses its power to control you.

  • Two women high-fiving during a group workout session indoors near large windows, with a cityscape in the background.

    Whole-Person Health

We also address the lifestyle factors — sleep, stress, nutrition, and mindset — that directly amplify or reduce pain sensitivity, because lasting relief requires treating all of you.

  • Yes! Many of our clients receive partial reimbursement from their insurance companies by submitting the Superbills we provide after each session. The amount varies by plan. We strongly recommend verifying your out-of-network benefits before your first session.

  • This model allows us to provide you with the highest standard of care without insurance restrictions. In-network clinics often cannot offer manual therapy, health coaching, or personalized treatment plans due to insurance limitations. Being Out-of-Network allows us  to use the most effective, evidence-based treatments—including hands-on manual therapy, stress management, sleep coaching, and pain education combined with strength training— providing you with unparalleled care.

  • RISE Performance & Health is an out-of-network provider, which means we do not directly bill insurance for you. You are responsible for payment in full at the time of service. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may submit the superbills we provide to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. You remain financially responsible regardless of whether you receive reimbursement.

  • Call your insurance company or check your online portal before your first session and ask:

    1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for physical therapy?

    2. What percentage of the cost will I be responsible for?

    3. Do I have a deductible, and can I get reimbursed before meeting it?

    4. Do I need a physician referral for out-of-network physical therapy reimbursement?

    5. How do I submit superbills for out-of-network claims?

  • Your initial evaluation is $289 — a 75-minute, one-on-one session with your doctor of physical therapy. We do a full assessment to diagnose the root cause and provide you with a comprehensive plan of care — tailored to your body and your goals.
