What Seattle Clients Say About RISE
-
"I saw Stephanie Irwin at a clinic before RISE, but wanted to vouch for what an excellent PT she is. Other PTs made efforts to examine the cause of my persistent knee pain and seemed to help make incremental progress, but it was very clear to me that it was Stephanie's deliberate and consistent effort to get to the root of my muscle weakness which let her suggest exercises and alterations to my running form. 9 months later, I'm still pain-free and going strong."
Max Zunti
-
"I highly recommend Rise Physical Therapy. I originally came in for recurring knee pain that was severely limiting my movements and preventing me from reaching full expression in capoeira. Stephanie was fantastic because she took the time to explain the possible causes and, most importantly, got to the root cause of the issue. The whole experience was seamless, and the administrative support was the cherry on top!"
Lamarr Smith
-
"Dr. Stephanie is the most skilled and caring therapist I have worked with. She takes the time to understand her patient's individual goals and needs and tailors her treatment based on those goals. She is amazing to work with and I highly recommend her!"

Dr. Roy Parsons, PT, DPT
Dr. Roy Parsons is a dedicated physical therapist who helps active individuals and those living with chronic pain reclaim their mobility and return to the activities they love. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of New England and holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from UC Santa Cruz, grounding his clinical approach in both scientific knowledge and compassionate care.
Roy specializes in working with lifters, fitness athletes and adults across the lifespan with chronic pain. His skill set is unique to people who place a high value on performance, longevity, and feeling at home in their bodies. With a deep understanding of movement mechanics, load management, and injury prevention, he bridges the gap between rehab and physical fitness. Whether you're recovering from injury or looking to optimize your training, Roy helps clients return to—and thrive in—the activities they love.
Roy’s own experience with a high school knee injury—and the fear that came with not knowing if he’d get back to moving confidently—shaped his commitment to guiding others through recovery with confidence and clarity. As a lifelong athlete he understands the physical and emotional toll of injury, and he brings that insight into every patient relationship. He's especially passionate about helping people build resilience, regain agency over their bodies, and rediscover joy in movement—whether that's lifting heavy, hiking trails, or simply living pain-free.
Outside the clinic, you’ll find Roy training in CrossFit classes, hiking, or backpacking—staying connected to the lifestyle he encourages in others. He finds deep fulfillment in helping patients surpass their expectations and feels privileged to be part of each person’s unique journey toward healing and strength.

Dr. Stephanie Irwin PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Dr. Stephanie Irwin is a passionate physical therapist who has been serving Seattle's active community since 2014. After earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University, Stephanie knew that standard care wasn't enough—she wanted to be among the best and offer something transformative instead of transactional.
In pursuit of this vision, she became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. Today, her specialized training in manual therapy, pain neuroscience, and health optimization allows her to deliver fast, lasting results with our clients at RISE.
Driven by her own journey through chronic back pain after a wakeboarding injury, Stephanie understands firsthand the frustration of living with persistent pain that other treatments couldn't resolve. This personal experience ignited her mission to create RISE with a different approach to healing—one that treats the whole person, not just the symptoms.
She has a special interest in lifelong athletes and treating complex chronic pain conditions, particularly working with dancers, runners, recreational lifters, former athletes, and women with pelvic floor dysfunction. Her own experience with injuries as an athlete, lifter, runner, and dancer gives Stephanie a personalized lens on what it means and what it takes to gain freedom from pain and to live a life you love.
Outside of the clinic, you'll find Dr. Stephanie on the dance floor, at run club, exploring hiking trails, or building community around equity and inclusion. She's often planning her next project or learning a new language in some corner of the world—because growth and curiosity fuel everything she does.

RISE Performance & Health is an out-of-network provider, meaning we don't directly bill insurance. This allows us to provide personalized, one-on-one care without insurance company restrictions on treatment methods or session length. Many of our clients submit superbills for partial reimbursement from their insurance. We accept HSA and FSA funds, and we can bill auto insurance directly for accident-related injuries. We also accept Washington State L&I claims.
-
Recovery time depends on the root cause of your knee pain and your individual goals. Some clients feel significant relief after just a few sessions, while others with chronic conditions may need several weeks to fully address underlying issues. During your free 15-minute phone consultation and initial 75-minute evaluation, we'll assess your specific situation and create a personalized timeline for your recovery.
-
Unlike traditional PT clinics where you might see multiple providers or share time with other patients, at RISE you get one-on-one care for the full 55–75 minutes with a board-certified physical therapist. We combine expert manual therapy with holistic health coaching—addressing not just your knee pain, but also your sleep, stress, nutrition, and movement patterns. Our approach gets to the root cause so you stay pain-free, not just feel better temporarily.
-
No referral is needed! Washington State has direct access laws, meaning you can schedule an appointment with us without seeing a doctor first. However, we do require a free 15-minute phone consultation before your first visit so we can understand your concerns and explain how our holistic approach can help.
